We pray for open doors, then forget the One who gave us the key. We ask for provision, then worship the paycheck. We thank God for opportunities, then bow to busyness. It is strange how something that started as an answer to prayer can end up stealing your attention from the One who answered.
“Beware that you do not forget the Lord your God by not keeping His commandments.” (Deuteronomy 8:11)
Maybe the devil does not need to tempt you with sin when success will do.
Blessings are meant to point you back to the Blesser. If what you gained made you forget who gave it, it is not a reward anymore, it is a warning. The cure is not less blessing. It is more gratitude. More awareness that everything good still comes from above, not within.
Gold turns to dust fast,
If the heart forgets the Source,
Grace fades into greed.
