I thought I was the only one unraveling while everyone else stayed stitched together. So I put on a smile, polished and practiced, just enough to dodge the hard questions. But that smile could not quiet the noise inside.
The war was not just in me. Scripture says our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world, and the spiritual forces of evil in heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). That is why every smile that hides the truth feels so heavy.
Some drown the gunfire with endless scrolling. Some wear grins that cover the smoke. A few dare to admit the fight, and when they do, it rips the mask off your own.
Hidden wars do not mean weak soldiers. They mean human ones. And humans need armor only God provides.
Faith is not smiling through the war. Faith is standing bloody and bruised, yet unbroken, because Christ already claimed the field. The war behind your smile will break you unless you let Christ fight for you.
Reflection: What mask are you still hiding behind instead of handing the fight to Christ?
