What if everyone around you walked away from Christ? Would your faith still stand?
In John 6, many who had followed Jesus turned back because His words were too hard to accept. The crowd thinned. The popularity faded. And Jesus looked at His closest disciples and asked, “Do you want to leave too?”
Peter’s response was simple and profound: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life” (John 6:68). His faith was not tied to the crowd. It was tied to Christ.
Real faith is not measured by how many people agree with you, cheer you on, or sit beside you in the pew. It is measured by who you cling to when you stand alone. True discipleship often looks lonely because the way is narrow. But the narrow way is the way that leads to life (Matthew 7:14).
Reflection
Would you still follow Jesus if the support system disappeared? If your friends, your family, even your church left Him, would you keep walking with Him?
Prayer
Lord, give me the strength to follow You even if I stand alone. Anchor my heart to Your Word, not to the approval of others. Help me to see that if I have You, I have everything I need. Amen.
