Verse:
“They will eat the fruit of their ways and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.” — Proverbs 1:31
Intro:
After tragedy, voices rise: “Pray for us. God, help us.” But when peace returns, God is forgotten again. We want His protection without His presence, His blessing without His lordship. Proverbs 1:31 exposes this pattern. People live by their own choices, and eventually they taste the bitter fruit.
Reflection:
God is not an emergency switch. He invites us to walk with Him daily, not just cry to Him when the bottom falls out. If we shut Him out of ordinary life, we should not be surprised when our lives feel empty and chaotic. The problem is not God’s absence, but our neglect.
Faith is not just for storms. It is built in the quiet routines of morning prayer, small acts of obedience, and daily trust. Then when trials come, we are not scrambling for God like a stranger, we already know His voice.
Prayer:
Father, forgive me for the times I only turned to You in crisis. Teach me to seek You in peace as well as pain. Root me in Your Word so I can stand firm when trouble comes. I want a steady walk with You, not a shallow relationship. In Jesus’ name, amen.
